Filling in the Universal Monster blanks
I got an HMV voucher for Bishop of Terni day (the 14th of February, as you know), and I was in Stirling yesterday - an old-stomping ground of mine, so I blew the voucher in the local HMV and got two DVDs - 'Son of Dracula'andandand 'Frankenstein meets the Wolfman'andand filled in some gaps in my Universalandmonster movie collection. A few years back - to coincide with the release of the Van Helsing film, starring Hugh Jackmanand- a lot of the Universal films were released as double-DVDs, and I picked up five of them. Reckon all I need now is 'House of Frankenstein' and 'Dracula's Daughter' and I'll have the complete set - well, apart from all those Mummy movies starring Lon Chaney Jnr. The kids, of course, are bemused, if not horrified, for all the wrong reasons. Black and white movies! Lousy special effects! Wooden acting! Not scary! It's changed days since I was young. Here's to the start of the Hammer collection.
