HAL DUNCAN'S GUIDE TO FANTASTIC CITIES OUT SOON FROM SMALL BEER PRESS

You can never keep up with what the members of the Glasgow Science Fiction Writers Circle are doing, but I'm glad to steer you in the direction of Hal Duncan's "A to Z of the Fantastic City", which is coming out from Small Beer Press which publishes the likes of Poppy Z.Brite, and Scottish writer, Alasdair Gray (that's his drawing of me on the home page from back in the day (BC - Before Children, and when I had some hair)), and of course, they publish "Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet".

Cities that get a look in include Camelot, Dublin, Heaven, R'yleh, Sodom, and Xanadu, among others and apart from Hal's contribution, there are illustrations by Eric Schaller, and an introduction by noted expert Henry V. Duncan.

Looks a lot of fun and only costs $10, or $25 for the special edition - I know which one I'm going for.

You should know that Hal is the author or "Vellum" and "Ink" and "Escape from Hell" and the poetry collection "Sonnets for Orpheus" and you can find out more about him at the place where he rambles on. I've had the pleasure of hearing Hal read at things like "WordDogs" - Glasgow's spoken word events, with added bite, and it's been a while since the last one, Halloween, I think, almost makes me want to arrange another one, almost!
